Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026
This policy explains what beGEO collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have — including how we handle data from connected Google accounts.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — when you sign up, our identity provider (Clerk) processes your name, email address, and login credentials on our behalf.
- Content you submit — the domains you analyze, the pages we crawl for you, content-campaign settings, and the content the platform generates for you.
- Connected-account data — if you connect Google Search Console, we access your search-performance data (queries, impressions, clicks, positions) to display it in the app. See the Google section below.
- Usage & device data — basic, aggregate analytics about how you use the app (pages, events, approximate location, device/browser), collected via Umami (a cookieless, privacy-friendly tool) to improve the product.
2. How we use your data
- to provide the service — run audits, generate content, and show visibility metrics;
- to operate, secure, debug, and improve the platform;
- to communicate with you about your account, support, and important changes;
- to meter usage (Gems) and, in future, to process payments.
We do not sell your personal data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
3. Google user data & Limited Use
When you connect Google Search Console, beGEO's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- we use Google Search Console data only to provide and improve user-facing features inside beGEO;
- we do not transfer or sell it to third parties for advertising, marketing, or other purposes;
- we do not allow humans to read it, except with your explicit consent, for security/legal reasons, or to operate the feature (e.g. debugging) where required;
- we do not use it to train generalized AI/ML models.
You can disconnect the Google connection at any time, which revokes our ongoing access.
4. AI processing
To generate content and run AI-visibility checks, we send relevant inputs (such as site content, topics, and prompts) to our AI providers, currently Anthropic and OpenAI, via their APIs. Under those providers' API terms, this data is not used to train their models. We don't send them your account credentials.
5. Service providers (subprocessors)
We share data with vendors who process it on our behalf to run the service:
- Clerk — authentication & account management;
- Supabase — database & file storage;
- Vercel — application hosting;
- Anthropic and OpenAI — AI content generation & analysis;
- Google — Search Console (with your connection);
- Umami — privacy-friendly, cookieless product analytics.
6. Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Deleting a project removes its associated data; deleting your account removes your personal data, except where we must retain something to comply with the law or resolve disputes.
7. Security
Access is gated behind authentication, connection secrets are stored server-side (never exposed to the browser), and traffic is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
8. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Much of this is self-serve in the app; for anything else, email us and we'll help. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
9. International transfers & children
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards. The service is not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes & contact
We'll update this policy as the product changes and revise the date above. Questions or requests? Email hello@begeo.online. See also our Cookie Policy and Terms of Service.
